Just wondering are you doing any tour of your Tom Crean play around Ireland? - I live in Kenmare, Co. Kerry and a new 140 seater, state of the art Theatre called Carnegie Arts Centre has just opened in the town. This venue may be of interest to you if you are touring - Thanks Con Hodnett

Hi Aidan,
I saw you in Tom Crean on sat nite in the Olympia and it was the best play ive ever seen. You had me in tears at times laughing and the play itself was so educational. Im from Dingle in Kerry myself and was thrilled at how Tom was portrayed.
Great Job!

Dear sir.
I have just completed writing a one man play, that has been the focus of my attention for the last four years. I am very happy with it, but now realise I have to go through the arduous red tape of putting it on in Dublin (and beyond depending on its success).
If necessary I’m prepared to fund it myself, and, based on your single minded mission to get your own one man play to the level of esteem it now enjoys, I would consider it an honour if you would give me some advice on the steps I need to take to make my play come to the stage. I have skills in theatrical makeup, and I know the play inside and out, so I wouldnt need any direction. I would be honoured if you would get back to me.
Yours sincerely,
Peter Garvey.

Hey Aidan,
I saw you in Dublin in 2006 I believe it was doing Tom Crean.
You know I never loved theatre until I saw your performance! I was so amazed at how enraptured I was just listening to your talk for hours. I wish it had never ended, really.
I live in Washington D.C. now and was wondering if you’ll ever be doing that performance on this side of the ocean anytime?
Otherwise, I know it won’t be the same, but could I buy a copy of your performance anywhere?
Thank you SO much! And best of luck!

Re: Tom Crean Arctic Explorer. Do you take bookings for small venue performances - audience 100 - 120?
We are based in West Berkshire (not far from your Croft hall performance)and are looking for a performer for a Sunday evening in late November.

Your performance of “Tom Crean Antarctic Explorer” at Andrews Lane theater a few years ago is my all time favorite theater performance. Your storytelling style really suits teaching about history and overcoming challenges. I’m currently a “telementor” for kids (unfortunately labeled “at risk”) in Topeka, Kansas. The class is based on “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens” by Sean Covey. The book probably won’t carry the impact of one of your productions. Since you probably don’t have time to tour Kansas and the many other places where “at risk” children live, I wonder if you have plans to produce a movie? I completely understand that a movie can’t possibly have the intimacy of your live show in a cozy theatre such as Andrews Lane, but it might be able to reach a wider audience.
As someone born in the U.S. and living in Ireland, I don’t think it is too much of a stretch for Americans to be able to understand your accent and Crean’s colloquialisms (except for those with ultra short attention spans such as a certain NYC critic.) If U2 can pull them in, you certainly can. I hope you’re enjoying this season. We hope to take my seafaring parents to see you in Tallagh the end of September.

Aidan,
Wonderful to meet you last night, quite the best piece of theatre I have seen in 20 years. Thank you for bringing my Antarctic Expereince back to life. One of the things you cant take with you when you leave the ice is the feeling of the Antarctic Silence, its as if she only gifts it to those that walk into her interior.
Thank you and let me know when you are playing in the UK and I will bring a troup with me.

Dear Aidan,
Hello for the first time!
I am acting as the senior researcher for the Museum of Maritime Science in Tokyo (est. 1974). Recently I have been in touch with Brian Kelly at the Discovery Point Museum in Dundee and he introduced to me briefly about your impressive work on Tom Crean for them.
From Nov 17 to 22, I will be visiting London on a business trip. I wonder if you have any performances in the London area during then. I would very much like to see your acting a play.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi Tom!
Aoife here from the Gaiety in Dublin. I thought I had lost the card of photos from the Gaiety but it turned up the other day when I was clearing out my office as I have left the venue. I can send them to you if you like! Hope you’re well!

Dear Mr Aidan Dooley,
at first, please excuse me for my awful English. It’s still difficult for me to write in a foreign language especially when not using it for awhile or like now, if it’s past midnight after a hard working week. I am not sure if I rather should write you tomorrow or during Christmas or in the New Year, or now. Totally unexpected, I found your activities around Tom Crean while surfing thru the internet and I just decided to start our acquaintanceship yet.
Besides that, I spent some hours at our famous Irish Pub today, because a large Christmas market is nearby. However,
my name is Sven Voege. I am 44 years old. I am born in Berlin, Germany.
My profession is construction engineer, but my mission is Polar adventurer.
We have a non-profit association called Polarworld (www.polarworld.de),
details later.
We are planning a stage play with young people about the race to the South Pole between Scott and Amundsen when the 100 year anniversary comes in the 2011/2012 season.
Therefore, I would be glad, if we will find a way to work together and if you like to come to Berlin in order to present your show.
Thomas Crean is an amazing person. For a gala evening about climate change and my enthusiastic about Tom Crean, I had invited the Irish Ambassador in Germany past summer.
It was an honour and first step for Polarworld.
Today, I just liked to introduce myself and my project and would like to wish you and your family a good start into the Christmas week and hope that we will find time and interest for a working together,
I thank you for your time.
With all good wishes
Sven Voege

Dear Aidan,
Really enjoyed your excellent Tom Crean performance last night here in Westport. Undoubtably one of the most entertaining performances on stage that I have seen. Thank you so much for your generosity of time and spirit towards the local school fundraising event. The enthusiastic standing ovation at the end of the show said it all. Thank you. KH

Hey. As I’m sure (in fact I can plainly see) you’ve heard before, your performance of Tom Crean Antarctic Explorer is amazing! It’s just about the best piece of theatre I’ve seen in a long, long time. I think it’s possibly the best play ever to grace the stage of the Baby Grand in the Grand Opera House Belfast, and I really hope you bring it back because it sold out before I could share it with my mates.
Thank you for bringing it and for a wonderful evening.
All the best in France!

Hi Aidan,
I met you at Gouganne Barry Hotel last year. I spoke to you about a book on the history of 1000 famous Irish people… “The Irish Who Shaped The World”. Please drop me a line and perhaps we can meet when you are over in Gouganne next month… and i can give you a look at what we have built… so you will have a better idea of what we are at.
Kindest regards
Sean
